POB TALK 07/07/2021 - #39

Interact with the community and receive awards.

A lottery chat post will be created daily, and for you to participate you just need to interact in the comments with other users. Want to talk about a topic, but still don’t have enough data to post about? Raise the topic and talk to others about it. Want to give your opinion on governance, UI, or even meet new people that you didn't know were part of the community, this is the place.

In addition to receiving votes on any comments that you bring to the community, you will also be competing for a prize for doing so.

SEVERAL PRIZES

As more unique users comment, more prizes will be drawn. Up to 10 participants are 3 winners, from 11 to 19 participants are 5 winners. From 20 to 29 participants 8 winners. If we manage to reach 30 participants, there will be 11 winners.

These votes will not hinder the trail, as it votes only on posts and not comments.

1 EXTRA PRIZE

You can also try your luck in an extra lottery by purchasing a ticket. This ticket will give
you a number to enter an extra draw on the day you purchased, the week you purchased, and the month you purchased.

To get one, just transfer 1 POB to @vempromundo.pob, this will serve to increase the voting power, and consequently give bigger votes to the winners. (The limit you can purchase is 1 per day, if you transfer for example 10 POB, you will compete with 1 ticket per day for 10 days).

Good luck, and good engagement

Hello Friends, How are you doing?

Let's talk about various tokens you guys are aware of and using. As most of us know there are plenty of tokens on hive engine and we also claim several token time to time on this platform. Most of us don't have any idea what these actually are so let's share your knowledge and wisdom on the tokens of hive engine. I am familiar with cent, ctp, neoxian, palnet, creativecoin. I once used weedcash tag in one of my post and i didn't know its rules. So your opinions on the use these tokens.

I only use and knoow POB and Hive, and some times LEO. I think they are good tokens and with time they can grow.

Check your wallet. You'd be surprised at what tokens are in there.

Speaking of surprises I just checked my wallet and saw that overnight I had received 0.00000002 WEED. I had absolutely no idea how that happened!

Then I went back through today's POB TALK and saw that I posted a reply which was part of the discussion started by @vikbuddy about the various tokens.

This just shows that we get tokens unrelated to our own content if it depends on the content of another poster.

Ah, I have a lot of tokens, but not exactly because I use then, but because I interact with posts posted in some tribes...

Exactly. That's where the surprise comes in.

I thought you had to use the token tag in your own post or comment for you to earn it. That's not the case. My earning of the token is incidental and by accident.

Still, it's like found money.

I got downvoted on a weedcash post once. I guess because it wasn't directly about weed. I thought mentioning the word "weed" would be enough but I guess you got to go into more specifics.

I'm curious now about pizza. I have seen this one a lot in curation. It looks like you can reward people with pizza. I don't know if #pizza also curates the pizza tag.

Yeah i am curious about it too. Both #Pizza
and #BEER tokens are interesting, if anyone knows plz share.

I guess Pizza and Beer are just engagement tokens and they are not tribes. They are just issued with the exclamation mark before the word and the tokens are issued to the recipient.

There are pages for PIZZA, BEER, LUV, ENGAGE, and a few others; One place to find them is in the Wallet section of Hive Engine after you sign in. The white "i" inside a dark circle is the Information icon for the token. When the dialog box for that token appears, one item will be a link to a site. More info about the token should be at the link.

As for using those tokens like we see in comments, first the tokens need to be accumulated. Some arrive in whole units, others arrive in fractional units. Either way, after reaching a certain quantity it then becomes possible to use the exclamation mark with the token name. If you don't have enough of the token accumulated, a reply arrives with bad news.

If you have enough earnings or disposable income, these tokens can be purchased in sufficient quantities and then used with the exclamation point. My earnings aren't at a point where I can buy anyting, so I have no experience to share on buying Hive or Layer 2 tokens such as POB and LEO.

Thank you. Some knowledge came the hard way after making many mistakes. Some knowledge came from comparing what I had discovered with what I had learned (especially with the engagement tokens). The rest came from reading what others had written here and elsewhere on Hive.

Most of my questions are about what I can do here, and the expected sources of information didn't help. So I look around for answers and share them with everyone in case they have the same questions.

Hold 24 BEER tokens and you'll be able to call the !BEER bot.

Pizza has similar qaulifications for using their bot.

Holding 24 BEER tokens sounds easy, especially with all the BEER comments we see all over the place. Left unsaid is that each time we receive a BEER it arrives in increments of 0.1 BEER. That means you have to get 240 of those things before you can use the exclamation point so that @beerlover can hand out BEER.

That is true, some more info: originally the !BEER bot gave 1 BEER but that was a promo. Instead of doing away with bot, the owner decided to keep the bot but give 0.1 BEER. The beer given comes out of the bots supply not the person who calls it.

Posted via proofofbrain.io

That's why you have to have 24 BEER staked in your wallet first. It already arrives in your wallet staked, so you don't need to do anything else.

If you have less than 24 BEER in your wallet (like many of us here), then it's possible to transfer BEER manually from one person to another. This we could always do, although only you and the person receiving beer from you know about this. Likewise with any other token distributed by bots.

Yes. But my challenge with pob is the price. When i first join the hive community the price was $0.7. In fact a pob can buy 2 hive then but the case is now reversed

Keep accumulating brother, you will definitely reach the sky. I have so much faith in POB that I have started investing almost triple the time here from what I used to do earlier. If you think the price is low and you are not depending on this income to meet your regular expenses, just keep adding to your wallet.

Even if you're in a general-topics tribe like Proof of Brain, PALnet, City of Neoxian and a few others, it's still possible to get downvoted. Posting crap gets people downvoted. Posting something not in tune with what the tribe as a whole is posting gets people downvoted. Then there are the usual things like offensive language, endorsing criminal activity, scams, etc.

Posting in Proof of Brain won't keep anyone safe from the downvote, so we need to post accordingly: nearly any topic, but be respectful to your fellow Hivers.

About 3 months ago @friendlymoose published this post regrading the use of tags:

While not complete-- a review of thousands of tokens would be needed for that-- this is perhaps the most comprehensive list made in post format. This post is worth bookmarking for future reference or saving the link in a place like a spreadsheet.

When we are newbies we use the tags that we see in the publications of other users and we select them at random, the truth is that that puts us at risk of obtaining a DV and it is not pleasant at all.

I started using #proofofbrain by posting from another community and got a reward in the same way. On the other hand, other communities do not offer votes to those who do not publish from their front ... so the POB makes a difference in the tockens

Pizza is like the !BEER bot.

When you hold enough you can call on its bot and hand out !PIZZA.

They have other stuff planned as well.

Hello @rentmoney I have seen that you are one of the people who distributes beer, tell me, how does it work, when you call the bot a direct delivery arrives to the person? When I get a message that I got a beer, is it just a serving? How do you increase the amount of beer you have?

Once you hold 24 !BEER in your Hive-Engine wallet you can use the !BEER bot command. The bot will then distrube beer in the amount of 0.10 BEER for each time you call it. The bot uses its own supply when called so you won't be out any !BEER when calling on the bot.

Here is a link to your Hive-Engine wallet: https://hive-engine.com/?p=balances&a=katerinhernandez

Until very recently I thought it only existed: hive, motor, lotus, pob. but one day he decided to go in:hive-engine and there he transformed a few pennies into coins that he had no idea existed. a great list of tockens out there and I'm curious how I can get some. on the other hand, like you, I'm starting to see beer and pizza all over the comunity

The warning is very kind. The downvote I got was very small. Maybe that was the warning. It may also have been an accidental downvote. The buttons are pretty close together. On a cell phone that may slip easily if not calibrated correctly.

Anyway, weedcash was very kind every other time. But I will keep in mind that all tribes will appreciate the majority of the post about that tag so they can curate well.

Happen to know and hold a lot of tokens of the hive engine. Leofinance for finance or crypto related contents, CTP for entrepreneurship contents, Broadhive also related to crypto and finance, sportstalk for sports related contents, dunk for basketball related contents, list for e-commerce contents and marketplace etc. This is basically the ones I know. There are also dividend/passive income tokens on the hive engine

Extra

So Elric already mentioned those but I'll add them here. Dhedge and archon, they're tokens that pay daily dividends in a bunch of other tokens including the token itself. Here's my list:

Utopis
One of my favorites, @chronocrypto uses fiat money through this project to buy hive so that's unique and very good for hive in general. Apart from that, the APR is one of the best. Liquid hive every Monday!

Cub life
Very high APY and good weekly Leo divs on Friday from cub finance, invest in cub finance without the hassle of cub finance, if that makes sense :-P

EDS(M)
Also pretty unique but lower APR about 20% each right now I think, get rich slowly. EDSM is the miner that creates 2 EDS per year on average and EDS pays weekly liquid Hive divs on monday

Brofi/brocoin
You can delegate almost any sort of coin to brofi and you get daily brocoin divs in return, brocoin is similar to dhedge and archon but a bit more selective I think, pays out in some of the popular coins.

HE index
Similar to brocoin, specific set of popular coins it pays out daily

SPI
Spinvest has a big list of holdings and pays out in more spi, auto compounding :-)

LBI
Last but not least leo backed investments, this is a growth token at the moment but every few months there's a vote to keep building the project or start the paying of dividends. End of the month there's a vote and some expect the dividends are the favorite this time.. time will tell

I think those are the ones I'm most excited about and try to increase monthly, any miner coin is also fun to have of course!

If you add some text explaining what prompted you to make your comment and what you were trying to achieve with the comment, you could make it into a post to be published in both Proof of Brain and LeoFinance, plus a few other general topic tribes. That post will get you more earnings, and you can link to it in future posts!

That's actually a very good idea and something that crossed my mind for a bit. Being a bit of a perfectionist at times I do want to add some visuals and a bit more of an intro and details plus links to a white paper etc.

I thought some of those are pretty common knowledge but with all the new people discovering hive it probably needs refreshment every now and again. Will try to make it into a post I'll update every once in a while and post it to publish0x too as it's a bit more long term aimed.

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Posts with cover images and extra visuals do get more interest than text-only posts, and that has been proven over and over. It can take time to make that cover image, but there's no rush in publishing this post.

Add whatever you need to make the original comment suitable for its own post. People need context, and perhaps a story ("The other day at [POB TALK](link here) we were talking about tribe tags and what happens if we use them improperly....") Links to other relevant content are great as well.

New people join Hive every day, so they wouldn't know about those tags. But lots of Hivers who have been here for ant length of time may nor be aware of using tags for earnings, either. For both kinds of people, your post would be useful.

As a bonus, periodically repost the content after including updated information. The other day the CENT tribe was formally brought online, so the #cent tag can be used in the same way the "leofinance" tag is used. You're giving readers updated content, and in the process you get another 7 days to gain earnings.

Thanks, those are some good tips. Hadn't heard about cent yet, are you active there?

And thanks for mentioning it, it's good encouragement and helps to verify there's indeed a want for this kind of info. Now just find the time to make it into a coherent story and come up with a nice cover. Probably after our holiday!

Thanks for asking, I'm relaxing, I decided to take a rest day without posting to my main account, so I could give my brain a breath.

I went out to take some pictures of my girlfriend this afternoon, and at night I helped her set up an LED light scene, so she can start twitching. I hope she succeeds.

And how are you? Share a little with me too, I like this interaction.

She doesn't like photos very much, I'm much more extroverted, I'm always taking some to keep a memory, but today she said she wanted to lose some of her shyness and decided to take it, so I edit some I put here to share with you.

We went to some places that had a nice background for taking pictures. First in an old tourist spot in the city that is no longer active called memory house, then we went to a skate park, then we went to a wood that was recently renovated in the city, and finally we took some more pictures at home.

Wow that's a lovely trip I would say. Its good to open ourselves sometimes to live the moment. In my case the things are exact opposite, I am kind of shy and Introvert, I don't like taking much photos but my girlfriend likes capturing the moments. In any case we guys can't dare defy our lady love, can we? 😜

I have so many pictures in my phone from my trips, I love all of them. Pictures make great memories, I wonder how people managed witout phones and cameras earlier.

Cooking is a stress reliever for me. I love to cook whatever is in the refrigerator. I'm good at cleaning out whatever we have too much of. For years my wife has tried to stop me from cooking because she says it is a waste of time. Nowadays she is beginning to see that cooking calms me down. I just like to chop stuff with big knives. You will see if you try.

We have too many potatoes. I made hash browns and then stew. I have an oven and make pizza and bread and lasagna and desserts. I cook mostly because I love cooking but I'm not so good at cleaning up.

Cleaning the kitchen is very important. It's basic hygeine you see. If you are not cleaning, you are actually ingesting all the dirt which is not good. And a cook or a chef can never give you a good dish in a dirty kitchen.

And it's not only about clening the mess, it's also about using good equipments, knives, pans, having a nice and powerful chimney an a hob tob. All these things add up and result in a good dish.

For example in Korea noodles are served at a weeding because noodles are long they are to represent long life.

I also make bread for sandwiches. In the fall I will start baking again. I like to use whatever ingredients we have left over and make something yummy. It doesn't always work, but I try ^^

Cooking has never been my thing. Never like to cook. Not because I'm that bad when it comes to cooking but I really impatient and don't have time going back and forth the kitchen and spending hours on a meal I will finish in less than five minutes. I'd prefer buying already cooked food or someone else cooking for me :-)

I was too impatient to cook too until my work relocated me to a place where there are literally nobody offering takeaway cooked food service. Restaurants were so expensive like for a month double my house rent. I learned on youtube how to make simple meals so fast, I could believe it myself. An empty stomach is a powerful stimulus that lead to in my case the habit to cook.

Yeah all three most of the time. Infact I just got my take away snacks for the night minutes ago :-). I know this is one terrible habit but I guess I'll adjust in time or wait till I get married to change from this lifestyle.

Don't get me wrong, I cook occasionally (Them 3-5 minutes meal most time) as I don't like wasting time in the kitchen.

what if u are in a situation where the only option is to cook ur own food what would u do

In that situation, I guess I'll just have to learn to adjust.

I like cooking, though I feel so lazy to cook sometimes.

Is so funny that I don't feel motivated to cook until I'm so so hungry that my stomach start biting me lol, that's how lazy I'm before I start cooking.

I love cooking pasta is my best and fast cooking though, I cook yam and egg source, my native soup (Oha), beans (my favorite),rice and source.

Pasta is nice!! And stoped eating eggs a long time ago, but they are nice too!! I eat beans, with rice almost everyday, it's a traditional dish in Brazil. Thanks for your reply!!

Cooking is very neutral to me. I don't like it or dislike it I just do it because I have to.

I prefer to make cocktails instead of cooking so when I'm partying with friends I'm usually in charge of drinks and I leave the cooking to someone who actually likes it hehe

I love eating though!

HELLO friend I love cooking since I can remember, creating new recipes and innovating in food is something that gives me hope, it is not for nothing but in my family the best chef is me (HAHAHA) we all have to plan a meeting and share dishes.

Cooking is my favorite. I just posted a new recipe of Sesame seeds ladoo. Its a sweet i prepared for my 9month old son and he loved them.

Cooking is an absolute stress buster for me. It's a sister's 10th anniversary this Saturday and I am planning to bake a red velvet layered cake for her. So excited, can't wait!

Hey @paulo.sar How are you?

Yes it was all so good. Last minute, I invited all my cousins to celebrate my sister's anniversary. It was so much fun. We partied till 4:30 AM in the morning and then the next day went lazy in hangover.

Had this kind of a part almost after an year. And it was so much fun.

In general terms I'm fine, thanks for asking! How are you?

Nice, I need to participate in a party too, but with the covid situation in my country, I will only do that when everyone is vaccinated... being lazy after partying is nice, I feel the need to do that too... someday...

to be honest , i really don't know much about cooking and i don't cook many things.
There are some limited items that i am aware of and that i have cooked for myself oftenly.

I can prepare noodles , tea , coffee , i have tried chapati but failed miserably and that's all i know , lol 😂.

Is a nice thing to cook but some of the men don't have that kind of patient when it come to cooking ..

in particular as I speak for myself the love I have for cooking was so fantastic but when ever I cooked something like rice before it get done I finished have of it on fire.

That is why i prefer buying food for outside or someone cooking for me,because I enjoy it more if I do that.

The engagement on POB talks has just gotten better over time. It's not easy to think of conversation topics with different people from all around the world. But I can see from these posts that there is some depth here. Congratulations to POB talk.

It's OK to post links to articles we find and talk about them. We can mix it up with links, questions, experiences, photos, games, lottery, and other things we can't even think of right now. Answer only if comfortable answering.

I was thinking the same today. I didn't drop by the entire day and when I finally came, I saw so many comments like never before. In a way I felt bad that I missed the chats with you guys but then, it's great to see POB Talk growing so fast.

POB talk has given me a kind of confidence on the platform. I see the platform differently now, it's a lot more lucrative. Greta job guys!

I've been posting and commenting like a mad man in recent days, so Resource Credits are lower than I had anticipated. I need a day or two to let them replenish before I can resume.

Hello there! So many comments, WOW! I was missing today due to a full-day training session in the office. I was the trainer and I got to know about it 15 minutes before the session. Really tired today.

So what's up! The market is all green again. Who all have made profits today?

I am working with my current organization for the past 6 years. If I had to train myself before training, it would have been a shame. It was on the go and I think I did a pretty good job.
